There are so many moving parts to a real estate transaction. You really do need a REALTOR® who doesn't leave you in the dark! As a result, you should be looking for a full-service, marketing program that allows the agent to remain focused 100% on YOU, the client!
You may have reached this webpage to understand how I provide valuable realty services differently than others. Unfortunately, the very thing you are looking for is prohibited. A real estate agent cannot advertise anything that could have value to attract business since I may offer something that others from my brokerage/agency office may not (e.g. professional photography, virtual tours, open houses, free market evaluations, buyer commission rebates, fixed commission fees, pumpkin giveaways, guaranteed sale agreements, etc.), but you can ask your prospective real estate broker/associate questions and they will gladly answer. All incentives like these are required to be advertised on behalf of the entire real estate agency/brokerage and not by their individual contractors (if one associate advertises an incentive, then all the associates/brokers in that agency/brokerage must offer the same incentive. As a result, we sound like a homogenous group even though we are all fierce competitors (although cooperative) with each other.
So ask questions. Once a real estate broker/associate understands your needs, they can then provide you with a breakdown of their fees, what they are prepared to provide you in terms of services, AND how they are paid through the purchase price of a home. Every service of value the real estate broker/associate provides to you (or potentially provides to you) should be detailed in their service agreement with you.
As a seller, you will know that these marketing and brokerage fees are included in the market value of your home. These fees are set by a mutual agreement between the seller and their agent.

Our online marketing system allows us to make information accessible 24-hours a day, and to respond immediately and directly to each and every prospective buyer. In addition to our local MLS® System, your listing is automatically propagated onto hundreds of "Property Listing Portals", aggregators and Internet Data Exchange (IDX) websites like REALTOR.ca, remax.ca, this website and any listing website maintained by many of the 5,500+ local REALTORS®. Your property listing is also aggressively marketed on websites like Facebook, YouTube, Kijiji and Twitter by hundreds of local real estate associates. Virtual tours which are sometimes included in your property listing on the MLS® Systems, are also fed to local real estate associates and brokers and across the country who use the same technology.
Pricing Your Home
When you think about it, there are several other homes for sale competing with your home. One of the first required duties real estate professionals are required to do is to help you determine the current market value of your home. This is the "Free Home Evaluation" provided by many licensed agents. It is provided "free" in order to meet you and to see your home. (In reality it isn't free, it is what is called a "fair trade" - i.e. info for info.) Licensed appraisers can also provide a market value report for a small fee (about $600 as of 2017). Pricing your home competitively to attract qualified buyers and their agents is an absolute art that comes comes to real estate associates and brokers from years of local experience and certified training. The way real estate associates and brokers do this is by generating a "Comparative/Competitive Market Analysis" (CMA) report, which will show you a range of prices being paid for homes in your area. In order to receive this report, expect to sit through an agent's marketing presentation (another fair trade, although more and more agents charge hundreds of dollars for this assessment).
