Prior to his long career in real estate, Tom had most recently honed his communication and negotiation skills as an operations and marketing executive, business coach and director at Canada’s largest, integrated foodservice and hospitality company for 13 years. He brings these skills, passion and attention to detail to his work each day. Tom is just as comfortable in the boardroom as he is one-on-one with the front-line team.

 

Tom is originally from small-town Ontario and grew up in the Toronto area. Hard work, commitment and getting results are not foreign to Tom. It really started at an early age: He completed both high school and university with accelerated programs and increased class-load to shorten each by a full year. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, and post-graduate certificates from both the University of Guelph’s School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management and the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. Tom has assisted in designing, marketing and opening many dozens of small business across Canada. Known as a business turnaround specialist, brand ambassador, business coach and a franchisee advocate, he has helped many dozens or small businesses and entrepreneurs regain growth and profitability. As a long-time resident of northwest Calgary, Tom’s knowledge of the Calgary real estate market is unparalleled. Tom is an avid runner, cyclist, photographic hobbiest and life-long learner.

 

In 2006, the multi-billion dollar hospitality company faced some financial challenges with resulted in significant restructuing. As a result, Tom took an early retirement package but his personal drive made him search for more to accomplish. It was time to refocus and Tom entered residential real estate having worked corporately with commercial properties, leasing and business brokerage.

 

Tom is currently licensed as an Associate Broker in the Province of Alberta to trade in real estate. In Alberta, only about 5 percent of real estate agents have invested the time, energy and expense to earn this broker-level licence classification, so it really is quite an elite group of professionals with both experience and accredited expertise.
